Our Story

From the moment our paths crossed, we knew there was something special — as if we had known each other for years. We first met in the summer of 2021 for dinner at Tia Pol in New York. Now, if you’ve ever been to New York in the summer, you know this: it’s hot, humid, and packed, conditions none of which are suited for a first date.

Gina was late and Laurent was unfashionably early. Recalling the moment Gina walked in, Laurent noticed the way she greeted the hostess with an energetic smile before waving from across the room. “Very beautiful, and…very American”, he thought. “He’s cute, but seriously, why are Swiss people obsessed with clocks?” she also thought to herself.

Today, we laugh knowing that our idiosyncrasies are what we love about each other. The term ‘opposites attract’ made sense. Although we both played tennis, shared similar values and musical taste, we were completely different. Gina is on a first name basis with local business owners. She bakes cookies for the neighbors and maintains an active log of outstanding and unresolved 311 complaints. Laurent, like a typical New Yorker, has no interest in small talk and couldn’t care less about our grocer's weekend plans.

Sometimes opposites attract, and like two magnets, we clicked and quickly learned that our differences not only balanced, but confirmed one thing: we’re better when we’re together.  We've been inseparable since and can’t wait to celebrate this new chapter with you!
